Linksys RE6300 Setup AC750 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Range Extender is perfect for home and office use on a budget. As mentioned it’s a dual-band extender and hence supports both the frequencies 2Ghz and 5Ghz.

Range extender provides high-speed internet speed and covers around 6,500 square feet of area. Linksys RE6300 Setup provides wired and wireless connectivity features so devices can be connected wirelessly and with Ethernet as well.

Linksys range extenders are universally compatible means they can be setup with any router or hot spot even with the public network as well. Range extender extends the existing wifi and hence increases the coverage within the premises. Setup of extenders doesn’t take much time and any non-technical person can do it. No need to call any technician from outside to get it done.

Every extender has 2 ways to get it setup with the router. If the router is approachable and has a WPS button on it then the WPS method also known as Wi-Fi protected setup is the best way to do it. But if the router is missing on the WPS button or not approachable then a web-based method (192.168.1.1) can be used.

For the WPS method, press the WPS button on the router and then on the extender before this grab the devices near to each other. After WPS, the light on the extender will light in solid green color indicates successful setup and the extender network name will be named “routerwifiname_ext”.

For the Web-based method, where the router has no WPS or WPS is not working we use this method. To begin, turn on the extender and connect it to the computer using an Ethernet cable. Now on a browser open 192.168.1.1 or extender.linksys.com, this will prompt the extender setup page. Obey the onscreen steps, at one step it’ll ask to select the router wifi name, authenticate the router wifi with its password and that’s it.

Light on the extender will help to understand the Linksys extender setup status. If it’s Solid green means it’s setup and ready to use. Once the extender is setup it can be moved to a different place provided it remains within the range of router wifi. After moving the extender no further setup or settings are required. The extender will work without any more hassle.

If after moving the extender it shows solid amber or blinking amber then move the extender near to the router as it’s losing the wifi range of the router. Solid green light is the only indication of a working and setup extender.
